So, you want to see a psychic or a medium?

Fabulous, finding the right one to support and guide you can help you make big and small changes in your life. In this blog, I want to give you some guidance when working with psychics or mediums, in particular, to ensure you support your mental health and avoid some of the pitfalls.

First of all, what is the difference between a psychic and a medium?
There are many definitions in dictionaries of both but, the simplest is this:

Psychic
*A person believed to have abilities, especially involving a knowledge of the future, that cannot be explained by modern science. *Cambridge English Dictionary.

Mediumship

**The practice of purportedly mediating communication between spirits of the dead and living human beings. Practitioners are known as “mediums” or “spirit mediums.” **Wikipedia

When I work with clients, I use both psychic abilities and mediumship to convey the messages I receive.

To help you get the most out of your reading, and ensure your mental health is protected, here are a few of the things I learned both from visiting medium’s to help me overcome my stress, anxiety and depression and the sense of feeling lost and helpless but also from the point of view of being a medium myself.

Visiting a psychic or a medium is not the be-all and end-all.


The medium won’t tell you how to live your life, they will guide you, reassure you and help you discover the tools you need to move forward.

The medium won’t tell you what to do.

It is up to you to take what you need from the reading, messages and information the medium gives you. They can’t and won’t tell you what to do or how to do it. They should give you the reassurance and inspiration to take the next step on your journey, all to help you to improve your life or situation.

Protect your mental health.

I became addicted to going for readings. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.
Take what you need from the reading to help you move forward.
Don’t dwell on anything mentioned.
If you’re unsure or concerned, speak to the medium again, even after the sitting and seek clarification.
Don’t try to prove or disprove the messages you receive.

A little of my story


I tried so hard to prove and often disprove the messages I received. In one of the first readings I had, the medium said that I would travel to Spain. I laughed. “Not a chance, I’m never getting on an aeroplane again.” After having a horrible flight to Jersey, I vowed never to travel by plane again. That all changed when I was made redundant and, I realised I had to start living, not just existing. I asked a friend to book a holiday for me, told her what I wanted to do while I was there, and guess where I ended up, yes, Spain! I laugh even more now. Not only have I been on an aeroplane again and visiting Spain, but also having lived and worked there.

During your reading

  • Keep an open mind.
  • Take notes if you need to.
  • Ask if you can record the session.
  • Seek clarity if necessary.


After your reading

  • Digest the information you have received.
  • Make a note of 1 to 3 small changes you are going to make.
  • Take at least one action for each of these to start the next part of your journey.
  • Continue making the small changes and always dream big.
