Writing has never been just about telling stories for me.
It has always been about connection, healing, hope, creativity, and creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and inspired.
Over the past few years, my work has grown far beyond being an author. Today, I work across several areas that all connect back to one core purpose: helping people rediscover their voice and their potential through storytelling, creativity, and conversation.
Mental Health & Creative Writing Workshops
One of the most rewarding parts of my work is delivering mental health and creative writing workshops.
These workshops are designed to encourage self-expression in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. Through guided writing exercises, storytelling prompts, and open discussion, participants are encouraged to explore emotions, experiences, memories, and personal growth through creativity.
Writing can be incredibly powerful. Sometimes people find it easier to write the things they struggle to say out loud. Creative expression can help build confidence, process emotions, reduce isolation, and open the door to important conversations.
I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of groups, including community organisations, adults navigating difficult life experiences, and individuals looking to reconnect with themselves through creativity.
No previous writing experience is ever needed — just a willingness to explore.
Children’s Workshops
As a children’s author, I’m passionate about encouraging imagination and helping young people discover the joy of reading, storytelling, and creative thinking.
My children’s workshops are interactive, engaging, and designed to inspire curiosity and confidence. Through storytelling activities, character creation, fun writing prompts, and discussions around books and creativity, children are encouraged to use their imagination freely and express themselves in exciting new ways.
These workshops can support:
- Creative confidence
- Literacy development
- Emotional expression
- Teamwork and communication
- A love of books and storytelling
Seeing children light up with ideas and excitement during a workshop is always a reminder of how important creativity truly is.
Speaking Engagements
I also speak openly about my own journey — including overcoming trauma, rebuilding confidence, discovering writing later in life, and using creativity as a tool for healing and change.
My talks are honest, relatable, and centred around resilience, hope, personal growth, and the power of storytelling.
Topics I speak about include:
- Healing through creative writing
- Mental health and lived experience
- Turning pain into purpose
- The importance of creativity and self-expression
- Becoming an author later in life
- Children’s literacy and imagination
- Building confidence through storytelling
Whether speaking at events, workshops, schools, community groups, or conferences, my aim is always the same: to inspire people to believe their voice matters.
My Books
Alongside workshops and speaking, writing books remains at the heart of everything I do.
My work includes both adult and children’s books, each created to connect with readers in meaningful ways.
From heartfelt fiction inspired by lived experience to imaginative adventures for younger readers, every story I write is rooted in emotion, hope, and connection.
Some of my published works include:
- Katie, A New Chapter
- Sedrick’s Adventures in Hopeland
- A Practical Guide to Healing Through Creative Writing
Looking Ahead
I’m incredibly excited about what the future holds — including continuing to expand my workshops, speaking opportunities, creative projects, and the ongoing journey of bringing The Adventures of Wiggle and Waggle to animation.
Creativity has the power to change lives. I’ve seen it happen — both in my own journey and in the people I’ve worked with.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support my work, read my books, attend workshops, and believe in the importance of storytelling.
Because stories really do matter.
