I’m sharing some simple techniques you can do in 10 minutes every day to improve your mental health through creative writing.
Never has it been more crucial for people to look after their mental health and well-being. The majority of us have either been in lockdown for more than 12 months or on the frontline dealing with more and more emergencies, delivering stock, feeding the nation and keeping the world turning as best as we can but, the strain on service providers and people is showing.
Katie, A New Chapter is the debut novel by author Lisa M Billingham. Here I share with you why I wrote my first novel.
Covid 19 forced me to write my first novel. I decided many years ago to write a book. Mentioned it often enough to make friends roll their eyes. I could tell what they were thinking. Here she goes again, another hair-brained scheme and it was, at the time. I was already suffering from stress, anxiety, depression and low self-worth plus, I was about to go into hospital for a hysterectomy. Writing a book wasn’t an option. It is now. Having been repatriated to the UK from Fuerteventura, I had time on my hands. A lot of it. Now, using my creative skills to write the first in a series of novels. I have loved writing this one and, I intend for it to help others find their self worth and live a life they love.
Fabulous, finding the right one to support and guide you can help you make big and small changes in your life. In this blog, I want to give you some guidance when working with psychics or mediums, in particular, to ensure you support your mental health and avoid some of the pitfalls.
First of all, what is the difference between a psychic and a medium? There are many definitions in dictionaries of both but, the simplest is this:
Psychic *A person believed to have abilities, especially involving a knowledge of the future, that cannot be explained by modern science. *Cambridge English Dictionary.
**The practice of purportedly mediating communication between spirits of the dead and living human beings. Practitioners are known as “mediums” or “spirit mediums.” **Wikipedia
When I work with clients, I use both psychic abilities and mediumship to convey the messages I receive.
To help you get the most out of your reading, and ensure your mental health is protected, here are a few of the things I learned both from visiting medium’s to help me overcome my stress, anxiety and depression and the sense of feeling lost and helpless but also from the point of view of being a medium myself.
Visiting a psychic or a medium is not the be-all and end-all.
The medium won’t tell you how to live your life, they will guide you, reassure you and help you discover the tools you need to move forward.
The medium won’t tell you what to do.
It is up to you to take what you need from the reading, messages and information the medium gives you. They can’t and won’t tell you what to do or how to do it. They should give you the reassurance and inspiration to take the next step on your journey, all to help you to improve your life or situation.
Protect your mental health.
I became addicted to going for readings. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. Take what you need from the reading to help you move forward. Don’t dwell on anything mentioned. If you’re unsure or concerned, speak to the medium again, even after the sitting and seek clarification. Don’t try to prove or disprove the messages you receive.
A little of my story
I tried so hard to prove and often disprove the messages I received. In one of the first readings I had, the medium said that I would travel to Spain. I laughed. “Not a chance, I’m never getting on an aeroplane again.” After having a horrible flight to Jersey, I vowed never to travel by plane again. That all changed when I was made redundant and, I realised I had to start living, not just existing. I asked a friend to book a holiday for me, told her what I wanted to do while I was there, and guess where I ended up, yes, Spain! I laugh even more now. Not only have I been on an aeroplane again and visiting Spain, but also having lived and worked there.
During your reading
Keep an open mind.
Take notes if you need to.
Ask if you can record the session.
Seek clarity if necessary.
After your reading
Digest the information you have received.
Make a note of 1 to 3 small changes you are going to make.
Take at least one action for each of these to start the next part of your journey.
Continue making the small changes and always dream big.
A clients experience
A regular client of mine first came to me when she was, in her words, “at the end of her tether,” Low self-confidence, feeling worthless and being in an awful relationship were just the beginning. Looking for guidance and the self-belief that she was worth more than the situation she found herself in. During our session, she had a light bulb moment that helped her find her way. The 360-degree transformation in her was truly amazing. She is now living a happy, fulfilling life.
Seeking help from a psychic or a medium can be life-changing. Some of the benefits include:
Gaining peace of mind
Clarity around your situation
Inspiration to move forward
Discover the tools deep within to support your journey.

Today’s One Card Psychic Reading Is from Davina MacKail’s Nature’s Blessings Pack.
Something or someone has been upsetting you for far too long. It’s time to let go.
There is a lot of green in this card which to me signifies the heart chakra and I feel some kind of heartache is stopping you from moving forward with your life. It feels like it’s relationship based and you were treated very badly. Time is a great healer as they say but we can’t move forward until we have cut the ties which bind us. It’s time for you to make plans to cut those ties. Don’t let a lack of confidence of insecurity keep you stuck in a place where there is no love.
Do you know what to do if you think you may have endometriosis?
First of all, what is endometriosis? Bloody painful for a start, it can be debilitating and is often misdiagnosed, as it was in my case.
For almost thirty years, I was backwards and forwards to the doctors with upset stomach’s, sickness, heavy and painful periods and not once was endometriosis mentioned. I was in my early 40’s requiring a new mattress before I even heard of it. The doctors had diagnosed IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome,) told me to stop eating spicy food and stop stressing but, that didn’t stop the sometimes chronic pain for three out of four weeks every month.

Who or what is holding you back? Who is around you that doesn’t have your best interests at heart? It could even be you, standing in your own way. Seeds for an idea you planted a while ago are now starting to take shape and grow. You have choices to make, and it is now time to stand in your power.
I would love to share with you 3 positive ways to reduce stress, anxiety or depression whilst in lockdown.
Looking after your mental health has never been more imperative than during the current Covid pandemic.
Issues such as stress, anxiety or depression can very often take over your life, impacting on your career, family and social life. With so much uncertainty nagging at us daily, it is vital to find ways of coping with our mental health.
Do you know what to expect following a hysterectomy? No, neither did I. I expected it to be painful and life-changing and although I was well prepared physically and mentally, I wasn’t prepared for some of the things which followed and the after-effects of the surgery. I am writing this blog to help you understand what to expect following a hysterectomy.
There were are few things that caught me off guard:
Using mediumship to heal you can be very powerful. Finding the right medium to help can also be very daunting.
Many years ago, I was struggling with life, feeling lost. I was suffering from stress, anxiety and depression and at the end of my tether. Trying to think of ways I could end it all. That was when I visited my first spiritual medium.
The reading was not what I expected. My family confirmed that the information I didn’t understand was correct. The only way she could have known it was by speaking to my departed loved ones.
Looking after your mental health and finding your self worth is important but never more imperative than when you are facing or have faced a hysterectomy induced menopause. In this blog, I would like to share with you 3 positive ways to reduce stress, anxiety or depression whilst coming to terms with a hysterectomy induced menopause.
